Rumours swirl that Hemel school filming is for Harry Potter HBO series

While officially unconfirmed, apparent insiders who have previously been correct about some filming details have claimed scenes will be shot in the town next week.

The Watford Observer reported last month that the road outside John F Kennedy Catholic School will be closed from July 23-25, with a permit for filming in place.

While the nature of the filming was unknown at the time, both prominent Harry Potter news page Wizarding World Direct and Reddit user Cursed878 have claimed primary school scenes will be captured during those days, with the latter naming John F Kennedy School directly.

Both have previously released accurate information about the production, including filming details of the first day in Leavesden and at London Zoo.

The reports claim that the school will be transformed into St. Grogory’s Primary School – the “Muggle” school Harry Potter attends before being invited to Hogwarts.

Scenes of this nature were not included in the original film series, with the reports prompting excitement among fans.

The majority of the series will be shot at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, as was the case with the film series.

Planned as a “faithful adaptation” of JK Rowling’s books, production on the show officially began this week and is expected to span seven series across the next decade.

The school and HBO have been contacted for comment.
