Increasing community participation in physical activity and sport to contribute towards a healthy town for Watford residents.Watford Get Active is a joint funded three year project by Watford Borough Council and Sport England to get more people in the Central Ward of Watford active!There is a whole host of free and low cost activities to try, from dance to skateboarding, cycling to walking and football. If you’re looking to get back into sport, to get fit or just try something new, there are lots of things for you to try out. Whether it’s getting involved as a family at our free badminton sessions, coming along with your friends to our Back to Netball session or popping down on your own, there will be something for you.
Everyday activity health walks enable you to enjoy the parks and open spaces of Watford. These volunteer led health walks will help you meet new people, improve your health and have fun. SkyRide local rides are guided by British Cycling trained ride leaders and cover a range of fantastic routes, giving you the opportunity to see your area by bike like never before. Exercising in your local park using outdoor gym equipment is a nice way to get some fresh air and look after yourself.

There is a large mixed gym area with treadmills, cross trainers, bikes and rowers, a studio space, a large functional fitness and stretch area, a separate spin bike studio and a generous free weights area. At Watford, we also offer a private ladies-only gym, a safe place to build up confidence and self-esteem.
