The Halfway House in Uxbridge Road, Rickmansworth, is long-term closed after Stonegate Pub Company entered the pub to secure it without ending the lease – as stated on a notice dated May 2, 2024, that was shared by CAMRA.
The UK’s largest pub company has now confirmed that it is investing in the pub, including redecoration and new carpets.
As part of the effort to get the Halfway House back open, it has started looking for an operator who can take up the mantle of running it day-to-day.
A statement from Stonegate’s regional manager for the area says: “The Halfway House is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to get involved in the town and create a space for those from near and far to come together to enjoy all the venue has to offer.
“The site has a great reputation for hosting live music events and as such benefits from an established local following.
“There is potential to extend the current food offering to attract new customers and the opportunity to expand the customer base and increase volume.”
The financial details state that the forecast turnover is £612,919 and the rent would be £48,000 annually, reduced to £36,000 for the first year. It also requires a £12,000 initial deposit while offering £20,000 in working capital.
A new operator would have access to private accommodation, with a kitchen, living room, bathroom, office, and two bedrooms.
